Senior Actuarial Analyst

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst with WC experience to be responsible for the application of all standard actuarial functions, actuarial estimations, and providing overall support to the Department. General functions include performing the reserve review function, providing pricing guidance on class segments, administering and performing division profitability studies, maintaining established actuarial databases, and responding to division data/results requests. This position could be located in our Atlanta, GA, Irving, TX or Jersey City, NJ office.

Responsibilities

Provide pricing guidance on the various class segments.

Perform divisional profitability studies as needed.

Provide quarterly analysis of loss and expense reserves for all lines.

Provide sound recommendations and summaries on reserving issues.

Provide concise actuarial reports in the analysis of various business segments for profitability.

Perform actuarial studies and data gathering projects in responding to Division requests on business results.

Responsible for the development/maintenance/distribution of actuarial reports and databases.

Develop specifications and interface with the business analysis unit in Finance for data requests and research.

Assist the Department in supporting the Finance Department in Schedule P preparation and other reserve areas.

Assist the Department in the planning/budget process preparation.

Co-ordinate and provide support in year-end loss reserve opinion and documentation as required for the annual statement.

Train and mentor less experienced actuarial analysts as requested.

Performs other actuarial duties as required.

Required Qualifications:


Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or related field.

Must be an Associate or near Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Must have recent experience (6 – 10 years) within the property/casualty insurance industry in either rate-making or reserving.

Preference given to workers compensation experience.

Proficient in Excel.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent ability to analyze various forms of statistical data.

Efficient, detail-oriented and service-oriented.
