Key responsibilities:
Provide technical support for ongoing clinical studies to characterize performance of existing and new Cutera products.
Design and conduct laboratory experiments to support clinical studies.
Develop and apply software models simulating the interaction of laser, radio-frequency, ultra-sound and other energy sources with tissue.
Develop data acquisition hardware and software to record and analyze clinical and laboratory data.
Partner with universities and laboratories to conduct wet lab ex vivo and or in-vitro experiments
Meet with Key Opinion Leaders to establish a working relationship and to conduct clinical studies
Design clinical study protocols and oversee the progression of the study though its entirety
Participate in project definition, priorities and schedule
Meet project schedule and performance milestones
Communicate status/progress of projects and tasks regularly in clearly summarized reports.
Serve as liaison between Engineering and Clinical Research
Support transfer of product concepts to product development by working closely with the manufacturing team.
Position requirements:
BS in Biomedical Engineering, Physics or related field with 5+ years of related experience in clinical research/engineering development or MS in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of related experience in clinical research/engineering development
Knowledge of energy tissue interaction and immunohistochemistry (IHC) required
Knowledge of optics, lasers, acoustics and radio-frequency
Experience using software for data analysis, image processing and modeling of energy tissue interaction (e.g. Matlab, Excel, COMSOL, etc.); drawing conclusions and reporting findings on regular basis
Experience developing data acquisition and hardware control software using LabView, Visual Basic or equivalent.
Experience in Design of Experiments to determine parameters that impact efficacy of treatment.
Work closely with Clinical group to establish treatment protocols |
