Senior CNC Programmer/Machinist

Job Description
This position is for a senior CNC Machinist/Programmer at Huffman Welding & Machine, Inc.
Experience/Education/Skillsets Needed:
2 years education or 2 years or more of machine shop experience or equivalent

Duties Include:
Program, Setup and operate CNC machining centers and lathes
Be able to oversee operation of CNC machines on larger jobs where you may not operate particular machine
Must know Gcode and how to program machines using CAM software and how to do complex fixturing and setup of machines including the proper tooling, etc.
Meet established production and quality standards
Work with customers to find out job requirements and expectations and deliver customer satisfaction through service and adherence to job requisition
Other requirements include:
Other desirable skills include the ability to operate other manual machines including: Manual lathes, manual mills, horizontal boring mills, all types of saws, all types of drill presses and radial drills, precision grinders, heat treat oven, etc.
Work safely and follow all HWMI and OSHA safety requirements
Experience and ability to multi-task and oversee more than one machine and operation at one time.
Read Engineering Drawings and Part Prints
Produce basic sketches of parts for engineers to duplicate. Skilled at use of all measuring tools Calipers, Micrometers, Height gages, indicators, etc.
Produce parts from prints or from old/broken parts Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments
Calculate feeds and speeds based off of knowledge of mathematics and machining math
Measure, examine and test complete units in order to detect defects and ensure quality conformance to specifications.
Maintain equipment – clean, lubricate, and coordinate with maintenance any work or items that may need additional attention
Physical requirements include: days where you will need to be standing and working at machines for majority of workday, working in heat during summer months, lifting 50 lbs and maneuvering up to 100lbs
Drive a fork truck and pass forktruck test
Have knowledge of overhead crane use and operation
Be available for overtime as needed
Work with fabricators and other machinists to coordinate work and project
Work with customers to understand needs and to proper adherence to needs
