The Sr Commercial Underwriter analyzes, appraises and determines exposure and acceptable risks for GuideOne’s business to determine coverage and premium that is both adequate and competitive. This position will be responsible for a territory assignment serving our religiously-affiliated niche focusing on effective communication and negotiation with agents and reinsurers. Has extensive knowledge of commercial underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Analyzes exposure based risk, collect additional underwriting information when needed, evaluate and price quotes submitted by agents to select acceptable risks at an adequate premium.
Underwrites, prices and processes renewals. Administers endorsements or changes in policies.
Reviews and revises coverage forms and manuscripts to meet the needs of the policyholder.
Negotiates pricing and coverage options with agents.
Portfolio management of the territory assignment to be sure it is tracking with established goals along key business metrics.
Bachelor's degree preferred; or comparable industry experience.
2 or more years of commercial underwriting experience.
CPCU or IIA certifications, desired.
