Responsibilities:
•Use operation and set-up knowledge of measurement and testing equipment to assist in solving manufacturing problems and completing projects.
•Use technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues; provide accurate and professional reports to communicate the issue results.
•Provide technical assistance in the plants to help optimize the performance of canstock products.
•Use canmaking experience to train, instruct, and coach other Technical Services individuals.
•Participate in technical meetings between company and can customers to explore joint development activities and programs.
•Communicate concisely, efforts, progress, achievements, problems and failures on a timely basis.
•Participate in technical meetings with rolling operations dept. to assist in mill programs
that reduce cost, improve product quality and/or effectiveness.
•Communicate concisely, efforts, progress, achievements, problems and failures on a timely basis.
•Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the company
•Ensure a working environment that motivates and supports all employees in their efforts to achieve operational excellence and zero work-related injuries and illnesses.
•Minimize any adverse environmental impact from operations. Use all natural resources and energy efficiently.
•Maintain pilot plant equipment and Labs instruments. Insure that pre-use and work instructions, MSA’s and MSDS are up to date and effective.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or directly related field.
•Five (5) years of related professional experience in industrial, mechanical, metallurgical, or chemical engineering in aluminum sheet processing and/or beverage can manufacturing environment.
•Working knowledge of engineering principles, practices nomenclature, and procedures.
Experience must include:
•Demonstrated ability to conceive, plan, investigate, research, and implement changes of considerable novelty and importance for which engineering precedents may be lacking.
•Ability to work independently within the parameters set by management.
•Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
•Extensive knowledge of related software including FEM.
•Demonstrated ability to identify problems using investigative process to analyze and evaluate complex information from a number of sources to arrive at conclusion.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and participate in a team problem solving environment.
•Ability to travel around 40%
