| Job Description | ArcelorMittal Cleveland has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineer in our Process Automation Division in Cleveland, Ohio. The following primary position responsibilities and key position requirements are intended to provide an overview of the position, but are not all-inclusive.
Job Description:
Performs projects, research, and testing required for the development of new or improved automation services, processes, or techniques.
Coordinates planning, organization, and implementation of engineering projects within constraints of specific objectives and target dates as specified by management.
Evaluates research and testing for members of the organization and prepares appropriate documentation and recommendations to submit for review and consideration.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot all Level 2 and selected Level 1 control systems and models in a manufacturing environment and function successfully in a self-directed management environment.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot database systems, data storage systems, disaster recovery systems, and other process automation infrastructure.
May include climbing many stairs into caster facility at least daily.
May include occasional physically lifting and carrying equipment up to 75 lbs
Experience Requirements:
Minimum/Basic Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in automation/engineering roles of a technical team in a manufacturing environment.
Certifications or equivalent work experience in at least one of the following:
computer operating system administration,
programming,
database management,
networking management,
process control,
process analysis,
process modeling,
project management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. And experience working successfully in a self-directed team environment.
Preferred Requirements:
Process control or process automation experience in heavy manufacturing environment.
Preferably in steel manufacturing, iron and steel making in particular.
Experienced programming in a variety of languages, including FORTRAN, C, C++, .NET, etc.
Experienced with process modeling. Knowledge of direct control systems such as PLC, DCS, and hybrid systems.
Experienced with VMS and Windows server operating systems.
Project management training and/or experience.
Education Requirements:
Minimum/Basic Requirements:
BS Degree – Engineering or at least 5 years of documented equivalent work in an engineering or computer related occupation.
Preferred Requirements:
BS Degree – Engineering in Electrical or Computer Science or at least 10 years of documented equivalent work in an engineering or computer related occupation. |
