Job Description | Senior Fluids Design Engineer
ATI Allegheny Ludlum produces and markets a wide range of specialty metals, including stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium to end use markets such as aerospace, power generation, automotive, and housing. We deliver exceptional products and services to customers around the world.
We are currently seeking senior fluids design engineer to support the hot rolling operations for a new hot rolling and processing facility to be located at our Brackenridge, PA, facility located approximately 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering on allocated plants working closely with and being supported by a dedicated engineering design team. This position is a leading role in product and plants engineering and continuous improvements over a range of products, with the aim of increasing product quality, performance, reliability, profitability and ease of use by carrying out the following main duties:
Product Responsibilities
· Provide product technical assistance to the project team as required
· Continuously seek ways to improve the fluid systems performance related to technical capability and reliability
· Work closely with engineering and manufacturing groups to improve product
produceability and serviceability.
· Promote the product standardization strategy in order to achieve reductions in engineering hours and total system costs
· Identify product improvement requirements and implement strategies to achieve the same
Project Responsibilities
· Review engineering designs and associated information as required (units schemes, pipe routing, etc.)
· Technically lead projects as allocated, from order acceptance through to installation
· Monitoring and technical supervision of subcontracted work
· Responsibility for ensuring that design and detailing are technically correct and carried out in accordance with company standards
· Engineering support to the manufacturing, installation and commissioning functions
· Manage technical staff as required, ensuring that project timescales are met and work is produced in a professional manner
· Ensure that company policies & procedures are met at all times
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineer
Minimum of 5 years of experience
