This position will conceptualize, develop and initiate processes, equipment, and manufacturing assembly systems for new scroll products and/or capacity expansion programs. Will coordinate and manage projects to design, procure, qualify, and implement equipment and processes in the production plants while maintaining project schedules and budgets. Will collaborate with Procurement, Product & Manufacturing Engineering to provide design and costing input for manufacturing and product/process changes. Practical application of automation and LEAN manufacturing principles to minimize manufacturing cycle time and waste. Will perform PFMEA's, Capability Studies and Gage R&R's to qualify production processes and equipment. Travel: 20%.
Job Requirements
Experience with high volume manufacturing operations, Application of LEAN manufacturing principles, Design for Manufacturability, tooling design, gauging, testing, assembly equipment and processes, plant layouts and material handling systems. Working knowledge of FMEA's and statistical process controls required. Proficiency with AutoCad, Inventor or other 3D modeling software is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project required. Knowledge of welding processes and equipment is a plus. Good communication and presentation skills required to interface with suppliers, product engineering and plant manufacturing personnel and other Engineering Departments and Plant Engineers.
EDUCATION:
BS Engineering Degree (ME, EE or WE preferred), required with five (5) years experience in a relevant manufacturing atmosphere.
