Exponent’s Materials & Corrosion Engineering Practice has provided over forty years of services related to the investigation and analysis of products ranging from aircraft and marine transportation to all types of industrial equipment and consumer products. Our in-depth knowledge of materials, combined with unparalleled breadth of collective expertise in virtually all areas of engineering and science, is used to understand how and why materials fail in medical, automotive, construction, recreational, and other applications.

The Materials & Corrosion Engineering Practice is currently seeking experienced candidates for Senior Managing/Principal Engineer positions. We are looking to expand our materials & corrosion services within our Houston, TX; Bowie, MD; Chicago, IL; and Atlanta offices. As a Senior Managing/Principal Engineer you will have a significant role in developing business and expanding the practice in your technical and geographic area.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities

Significantly increasing Exponent’s materials and metallurgical consulting efforts

Analyzing a wide variety of materials failures using field inspections, engineering analysis and experimental testing

Qualifications for this position include:

Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Significant business development experience with a proven track record

The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in their field with consulting experience and an established practice

Ability to attract projects to support full-time staff, and to manage and develop a group of highly motivated individuals

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams

A record of professional papers and presentations, and a proven record of dedication to quality and accuracy
