Marotta Controls, Inc. designs, develops and manufactures motion/flow control products and systems designed for the Space, Aerospace, Weapons, Naval, Military, Government Services, as well as Commercial markets, both domestic and international. We are looking to increase our staff and are seeking senior level candidates to perform diversified mechanical engineering functions in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment. There are 2 positions available for Senior Mechanical Engineers with a minimum of 5 years experience.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing products to meet customer's requirements (including all design, functional, material, and test requirements from the customer's component and sub-tier specifications) as well as the cost targets established during the proposal stage. The SME shall enlist the help of other disciplines when necessary, such as manufacturing, other engineering disciplines, and QA.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer has overall authority over all drawings, technical issues on the program (i.e. test failures, field fixes), test procedures, process specifications when appropriate, and data items with technical input requirements. Maintains schedule of projects and creates, coordinates, and monitors all aspects of product design, fabrication, and production.

Regular interaction required with other engineers and test technicians as well as frequent contact with suppliers, contractors, and customers. Occasional light travel may be involved.




Knowledge/

Experience:
•Design experience with a variety of valves and fluid control devices preferred
•Knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
•Experience in performing analytical solutions using ANSYS or Pro-E Mechanica
•Defense/aerospace experience
•Solid analytical skills are required: stress analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow
•Ability to solve complex mechanical, static and dynamic problems
•Ability to resolve performance, durability, and safety issues
•Knowledge of machining operations, welding, and soldering
•Knowledge of modeling tools
•Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and compressible flow
•Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details
•High level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge
•Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Superior communication skills


Education:
•B.S in Engineering is required as a minimum - Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent. Advanced technical degree or significant experience is desirable for these positions.
