Description
The Janos team in Keane, NH seeks a talented Senior Optical Mechanical Engineer to on a small and successful team. The Janos team is an industry leader in high quality and innovative optical solutions. As the Senior Engineer you will apply your extensive optics and mechanical design experience for the development of new and sustaining products using opto-mechanical design skills and broad capabilities in the area of mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the layout and design of complex optical mechanical components and systems
· Prepare specifications and parts lists
· Prepare or direct the preparation of drawings and specifications IAW ANSI Y14.5
· Participate in design reviews
· Adhere to budget and schedule commitments
· Insure quality through adherence to the Quality Systems Manual, applicable Standard Work Instructions and other standards imposed internally or contractually
· Work from preliminary sketches, layouts, specifications, controlling parameters and assistance of cognizant engineer
· Make necessary mathematical calculations
· Prepare specifications and parts lists
· Support line of catalog products
Qualifications
Desired skills:
· 15+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience with at least 5 to 10 years in directly related experience within opto-mechanical design.
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optics or related field.
· Experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
· Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks (AutoCAD experience a plus)
· Experience designing and prototyping precision opto-mechanical assemblies.
· Ability to create detailed drawings with appropriate tolerancing to assure form, fit and function.
· Experience working with machine shops.
· FEA Analysis and simulation, a plus
· Must be an enthusiastic self-starter with strong analytical skills, team player with the demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments.
· Ability to qualify for a US Secret Security clearance.
