| Job Description | Specific Responsibilities include:
•Responsible for design of planar waveguide devices such as AWGs, splitters, combiners, multiplexers, demultiplexers and other advanced PLC based devices.
•Key product development team member working on next-gen coherent and client products.
•Propose and implement design solutions to meet internal requirements and/or customer specifications.
•Evaluate design solutions with simulations and detailed comparison to test data.
•Design and conduct optical experiments as needed to support design efforts
•Support related teams including fab, test, packaging, and offshore engineering teams to ensure production of low cost, high yield PLC based products.
•Opportunities to work on active passive integration with InP based active devices.
•Deliver and publish software required to meet goals and support external teams.
•Propose innovation solutions to meet new PLC based product or market requirements.
Requirements and Experience:
•Demonstrated design and production of passive waveguide devices
•Demonstrated drive and aptitude for research and development
•M.S. or PhD in engineering or Physics with solid background in optical physics
•Demonstrated capacity for innovation in a technical work environment.
•Demonstrated capability for optical laboratory experimental investigations.
•Expertise in software development with demonstrated ability to code in Matlab, etc.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills. |
