| Job Description | The position of Sr. Product Development Engineer reports directly to the General Manager and functions daily within a fast paced, custom injection molding environment
•Develop, optimize incorporating design of experiments, stabilize and troubleshoot complex injection molding processes using a wide variety of engineered and commodity type resins on a wide range of injection molding machinery.
•Evaluate and train department personnel on the latest problem solving, set-up and processing techniques.
•Develop and implement continuous improvement projects geared toward reducing internal scrap and process costs and increasing production levels within the department.
•Work closely with manufacturing and administrative personnel to achieve departmental and company goals.
•Interface with the department management to achieve daily and weekly production requirements.
•Interface with the Sales and production departments to assist with engineering changes connected with existing programs and new project start-ups with transition into production.
•Oversee, coordinate, reduce costs associated with internal external mold changes connected with existing production programs.
•Assist with maintaining and updating all required departmental records per SOP and defined ISO requirements.
Develop, implement and champion a Lean manufacturing environment.
The right candidate will have:
Outstanding problem solving and leadership skills.
•Bachelor’s in Plastics / Polymer / Mechanical / Industrial or related engineering discipline or chemistry degree.
•5 years of advanced injection molding, tooling, automation assembly experience required.
•SPC knowledge considered highly advantageous.
•Working knowledge of engineering resins
•Has successfully implemented and maintained a Lean manufacturing environment within an injection molding setting. |
