| Job Description | We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to provide project management, design and technical support at our Portland location. This position involves working on projects related to investment, repair or replacements in production and maintenance, troubleshooting, risk assessment and guidance on machinery process capabilities in production.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Providing all departments with equipment and designs that meet company standards.
Providing technical support and troubleshooting services to Maintenance and Operations Departments.
Developing and improving policies and procedures for documenting engineering work and providing comprehensive documentation for all projects.
Make recommendations and manage capital projects.
Write proposals including; business rules, process description, business controls, opportunities, costs, and benefits.
Write requirement specifications, high level design, and architecture specifications.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical or Weld Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years experience working with equipment, buildings, and machinery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to write technical documents and specifications.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to deal with opposing opinions and effect compromise.
Creative problem solver with high degree of analytical skills.
Well-organized self-starter, capable of budgeting time to meet priorities, while maintaining accuracy and functionality.
Knowledge of Machinery, Fabrication, Welding, Hydraulics, and Machining.
Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, Mesh Models, Strains and Stresses.
Must be able to specify electrical components, instrumentation & control system requirements. Experience with troubleshooting techniques on manufacturing equipment/processes.
Mechanical and project experience.
Must be able to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics and drawings.
Must have experience with rolling mill equipment.
Able and willing to support 24-hour rolling mill operation through variable shifts and/or on-call, when necessary.
Ability to work in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise. |
