| Job Description | Dendreon is seeking a Senior Research Associate to fill a position in our Analytical Sciences group. This is an opportunity to work on a multidisciplinary team of talented scientists dedicated to creating novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment of cancer.
The primary responsibilities are polychromatic flow cytometry assay development, cell sorting, and routine flow cytometry instrument maintenance. In addition to the primary responsibilities, this position will assist in the development and implementation of novel technologies to significantly increase efficiency of testing commercial products. This is a data driven environment that requires the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
Job Functions:
• Assist with polychromatic flow cytometry assay development and qualification for methods used for clinical development and commercial environments.
• Provide technical support to flow cytometry core facility shared by multiple departments including quality control, maintenance, and data management for multiple flow cytometers.
• Develop strategies for flow cytometry data analysis for assay development and troubleshooting.
• Cell sorting support for Research and Development activities.
• Careful documentation of results in laboratory notebooks, technical reports and presentations.
• Serve on various interdepartmental teams as a flow cytometry technical expert as needed.
Requirements:
• Requires a B.S. or M.S. in Immunology or relevant scientific discipline.
• 5-8 years of hands on laboratory experience in assay development.• Extensive polychromatic flow cytometry experience, cell sorting experience preferred.
• Experience with BD LSR, and Calibur cytometers, and DIVA software preferred, experience with Beckman Coulter FC500 cytometer a plus.
• Experience with assay qualification and validation.• Ability to work independently and effectively on a team.
• Ability to write and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with cGMP systems and technical support is a plus.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis of data sets

• Ability to safely handle potentially hazardous materials.
