Description
Perform economic and reservoir evaluation of new investment opportunities. These may include exploratory prospects, property acquisitions, lease blocks in proven plays, joint ventures, etc. Responsible for technical and commercial evaluation of conventional and unconventional reservoirs across multiple US petroleum basins.

Responsibilities:

· Work with geologists, landmen and other disciplines to identify and evaluate technical and economic merits of new investment opportunities

· Utilize all tools available to quickly and efficiently scope historical reservoir performance, potential, and risks from third-party and public domain data sources

· Calculate probabilistic and deterministic resource and reserve potential

· Build acquisition models that incorporate local variations in reservoir expectations, drilling and development costs, infrastructure build-outs, etc

· Recommend necessary evaluation procedures for exploration/exploitation wells

· Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis

· Leadership role in the development and implementation of growth strategies

· Presentations and recommendations to senior management as required.

Qualifications

· Degreed engineer with 7+ years of industry experience in reservoir engineering, well performance analysis, reserve estimation and economic/risk analysis, including recent experience with in unconventional (tight reservoirs and shale) resource play quantification

· Some A&D experience and experience in conducting integrated field studies and the development of optimized field exploitation plans

· Must be business minded and prepared to manage the business aspects of new venture evaluation and execution

· Must be self-motivated and be receptive to new ideas and approaches.

· Experience working in a multi-discipline team environment, emphasizing technology and individual responsibility with demonstrated achievements in value creation

· Experience in conducting statistical analysis and identification of key performance correlations

· Must have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

· Proficient in ARIES, EXCEL and standard evaluation software

· The successful candidate must be self-directed and capable of working in a small team environment along with other engineers and geoscientists

· Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, industry partners and third-party deal brokers

· Successful candidate will be expected to mentor and direct inexperienced engineers and technicians

· Some travel may be required

· Experience in well optimization and the identification of opportunities for production and reserve increases would be helpful
