The Assay Development Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist with a background in cell biology/immunology/tissue culture or a related area. This individual will contribute towards development of advanced novel assays on Theranos platform. The individual will work with other scientists/associates within the team to design and execute experiments, analyze data and communicate results in an intense, inter-disciplinary and exciting environment. The position will require excellent scientific and problem solving skills, with a strong focus on creative solutions to technical problems. The individual will use multiple laboratory techniques such as RT-qPCR, protein conjugation and purification, cell culture, UV-Vis/fluorescence spectroscopy, microscopy, etc. Successful candidates should have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to ensure optimum advancement of assay development from conception to delivery.
Theranos is seeking an individual with the following attributes:
A demonstrably rigorous experimentalist with excellent quantitative as well as analytical skills and a creative problem solver
Extensive experience with biochemical signaling assays , cell-based assays, microscopy, bioconjugations, basic molecular and cell biology techniques etc
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at the same time and work in a highly interdisciplinary team
Strong research background in immunology, cell biology or developmental biology as evidenced by impactful peer-reviewed publications and ability to communicate their work to a science-savvy audience
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biological sciences: molecular and cell biology, immunology, or Physical Biosciences: bio/chemical-eng, biophysics, or related field. Two-three years of post-doc or industry experience is a plus, but fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
