| Job Description | This position involves being part of an interdisciplinary, dynamic and enthusiastic team responsible for supporting R&D programs, driving research in quantitative analysis of small and macromolecule analytes. This will include targeted quantitative assay development as well as small molecule identification and characterization using different analytical methods (ie, LC/MS, GC/FID, GC/MS, HPLC, CE, etc).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Being a key member of the Bio Analytical group, conducting a range of activities including quantitative analysis of the cellular production of small and macromolecular species over the course of proprietary fermentation and recovery processes.
Applying targeted proteomics, metabolite profiling, qualitative analysis for the identification of specific products and by-products, and the closing of process mass balance.
Designing, planning and performing experiments.
Collecting and interpreting data.
Communicating experimental results and ideas using written, verbal, and visual tools to team members and management
Providing technical expertise as required to colleagues and to train junior employees
Perform and create safe work practices
Organizing and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
Working in a dynamic environment and under tight timelines.
Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical science or a related field with proven track record of accomplishments in an industrial setting, preferably in bio-technology or life sciences.
Experience Required: Experience in the preparation, characterization, quantitation of proteins in biological samples using targeted proteomics. Experience in the development of analytical methods for the identification and characterization of metabolites, products and by-products generated over engineered industrial microorganisms.
