Senior Staff Engineer- Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording Media Process Development-07929
Description
•Conduct and lead research and development projects on technology staging of advanced magnetic media including determination of specific product designs. Work with cross-functional groups on qualifying new media designs in to products.
•Lead efforts on manufacturability of Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording media through identification of new magnetic materials, under layer structures, processes and methodologies.
•Work with equipment development group on identifying sputter tool components and configurations needed for advanced media manufacturing and qualify process using these components.
•The Engineer must establish close collaboration with peers and must exercise creativity to enable progress in advanced magnetic media development.
Qualifications
•Ph.D. degree in Physics/Materials Science or related field.
•3-5 years of prior experience in disk drive industry is highly desired.
•Should have at least 3 year experience on processing magnetic films useful for heat assisted magnetic recording and characterizing them.
•The candidate should have a strong research background in Magnetic thin film media, thin film synthesis, magnetic material properties, advanced characterization and knowledge in magnetic recording. |
