| Job Description | Responsible to calculate and verify premium rates for renewal and prospective accounts. Understanding and expertise in the pricing of different funding arrangements and advantages and disadvantages to both the account and carrier are required. This includes an understanding of the strategic implications of the competitive marketplace and the product offerings in order to make sound underwriting assumptions in the rate development process. This position will also require performance of financial and actuarial analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 3 years as an Underwriter at CDPHP or 5 years underwriting experience in HMO, Indemnity insurer, or similar insurance environment required.
Advanced knowledge of computer spreadsheet software such as Excel or Lotus and database management tools such as Access required.
Analytical skills to develop and interpret actuarial data and reports required.
Experience working with data extract tools specifically used in a data warehouse environment preferred. |
