Job Description | This position directs and supervises a crew of mechanics, shop and field, to efficiently manage the repair and maintenance of equipment as assigned.
Essential Functions
1. Accept requests from external and internal customers for repairs to equipment.
2. Determine pricing and prepare quotes for customer.
3. Open work orders, assign the appropriate service technician to perform the repairs.
4. Determine white repairs are warrantable vs. customer billing.
5. Monitor progress of repairs and keep customer informed of progress.
6. Review completed work order and write and invoice description of work performed.
7. Maintain the parts returns from technicians to established percentage goals.
8. Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
9. Actively oversee and monitor safety practices of employees and correct as needed.
10. Actively promote positive interdepartmental relations.
11.Actively support company policies and procedures.
12. Manage employee performance appraisals in a productive and timely manner.
13. Maintain open and continuous communications with service manager on work issues and employee matters.
Qualifications
1. Five years experience as a heavy equipment service technician, two of which in a lead role.
2. Experience or training in management concepts and practices; willingness to participate in further company-provided training.
3. Computer literacy necessary.
4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
