The ability to define, design and implement databases and reporting of business data from several source systems. The economist will work closely with both internal and external users to meet their analytical needs. Frequently work on ad hoc projects or participate in cross-functional teams, and on occasion instruct or assign work to others.
Responsibilities:
Consults with departments to determine analytical needs, objectives, functions and requirements. With this information, design, develop, test and maintain developed work.
Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of complex reporting and data analysis environment, which includes dashboards, ad-hoc reporting and OLAP cubes.
Assist in the resolution of reporting and data quality issues
Analyze, design and build complex reports.
Work with DBAs to maximize performance on databases and systems
Educate users on using reporting systems and data structured designed by the analytics department.
Perform all other ad hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by management

Required Experience
Experience with relational databases and the ability to analyze structures for use in reporting and ad-hoc query generation.
Solid experience with SQL server development (stored procedures, views, triggers, query optimization).
Experience with Business Objects, Cognos, Crystal Reporting or other reporting and business intelligence platforms.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
Must be able to work as part of an analytical team as well as with our IT team to accomplish objectives.
Must possess knowledge in OLAP design and processes as well as knowledge of data modeling and data analysis tools.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Familiarity with professional, healthcare and hospital claim payment processes preferred
Familiarity with Medicare coverage and/or managed care experience provides candidates a decided advantage preferred
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Accounting or related field preferred with an Associates Degree required. |
