Job Description | Meets with key business unit stakeholders to analyze, define, and document detailed functional requirements. ýNegotiates business unit requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the ýbusiness unit's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the ýbusiness unit and project team on requirements for the project deliverables. Works collaboratively with business ýunits, Project Managers, and varied IT teams to develop and implement the specific technology and architecture ýnecessary to deliver business solutions.

Develops written business and functional requirements to clearly define and detail the needs of the business unit. ýRequirements may include screen design and process flow charts.
ý
Participates in root cause analysis in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to ýimprove productivity for both the business units and IT.
ý
Manages multiple priorities, business unit expectations and relationships will all stakeholders, project manager(s) ýand levels of management.
ý
Meets and works with project business sponsors, software end-users, applications development staff, and others ýas necessary to perform assignments.
ý
Works with project team to plan, estimate, schedule and implement the testing of project tasks. ý
Must be able to elicit requirements for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence projects. This includes ýunderstanding the business needs and translating them into functional requirements and data elements. Provide ýthe business stakeholders with options to assist them in making business strategic decisions.ý
Solid understanding of EDW, ETL and BI terminology and workflow is required.ý
Must be able to facilitate requirements gathering sessions and document the requirements in a variety of ýdeliverable formats.ý
Preferred Qualifications
Experience organizing, assigning and monitoring deliverables for large, complex projects in nature.
Experience in requirements gathering, definition, business planning, data analysis, process analysis, business and functional requirements analysis, system design, testing, implementation and change management.
Experience with documented software development methodology and understanding of all stages of project life cycle.
Excellent reasoning, strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Good negotiation skills.
Able to mentor and coach others.
Able to serve as a change agent for new techniques and approaches.
.Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of various requirements models including BPM, Data Flow
Diagrams, Context Diagrams and Sequence Diagrams.
Experience working with agile software development methodologies.
Education and Training
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience.
Professional development training in Business Analysis methods and procedures is preferred.
Previous insurance experience is preferred. |
