Sr. Claim Examiner, Property (General Adjuster)
Job Description
Claim professional sought to join our highly respected property casualty insurance company. Based from your residence in New England, the successful candidate will provide a high standard of service while effectively handling and directing a diverse caseload of property insurance claims, including complex and large property losses throughout the New England states and northern New York. Candidates must possess a track record of proven aptitude, skill and success in handling all aspects of property claim adjusting. Demonstrated ability in policy interpretation and coverage determination are required skills. The successful candidate will possess expertise in scoping and writing detailed residential and commercial building estimates, adjusting business interruption claims and will participate in dispute resolution with Vermont Mutual insureds or their representatives.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, a related field or equivalent experience.
Ten+ years of relevant technical claims experience with a record of achievement and success; including advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of property claims in New England and New York.
Adjuster's License(s) where required by law.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development such as AIC, SCLA, CPCU, RPA, CIC.
Strong analytic, negotiating, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Well versed in reconstruction methods, loss mitigation and remediation techniques, building codes, ordinances, claims law, etc.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and ethics in dealing with professional issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Estimating Software, Imaging software and mobile technology.
Ability to travel frequently and come to the Home Office in Montpelier upon request.
