Job Description | Key result areas:
Responsible for providing chemical process engineering expertise for process development and improvement initiatives and the early phases of capital projects.
Develop executable engineering packages with engineering contractors based on process concepts.
Participate in projects as developer of complex ideas for process development and improvements.
Prepare alternative analysis for new-to-Cabot technologies.
Lead and drive improvement programs on non-core process steps.
Evaluate new-to-Cabot technologies from 3rd parties.
Review qualifications and proposals of engineering contractors regarding these technologies.
Critical Competencies:
In depth understanding of scientific basics of chemical engineering.
Self-starter; excellent management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, verbal and written, and presentation skills are a must.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to work on project teams with multiple disciplines and multiple departments.
Capability to work in an international environment.
Experience in process simulation (ASPEN Plus).
Data analysis and root cause analysis experience desired.
Travel required 1-2 weeks every 2 months internationally.
Education/Experience:
Ph.D. or masters degree in engineering (e.g. process, chemical, or similar).
5 years experience in process design, scale-up and engineering for the chemical industry, focus on fluid phase technologies.
