Leads the ongoing analysis, planning, & management of a product line or product family & facilitates corrective actions to improve product financial (membership, revenue, margin) & administrative (health plan & delivery system operations) performance.
Essential Functions:
Is responsible for managing the performance of a product line or product family to support regional profitability & membership goals. Managing entails ongoing analysis of product performance & the facilitation of corrective actions to improve the product financial & administrative performance.
Develops annual product plan containing target performance metrics, initiatives & strategies that are consistent w/ overall MSBD goals as well as the goals of the individual business segments.
Collaborates w/ the business line managers to ensure product line performance goals are consistent w/ the business line strategies.
Coordinates & leads multi-disciplinary task groups that assess the marketing, financial operations, administrative, & clinical implications of specific product changes & enhancements.
Leads the implementation of product enhancements as appropriate. Ensures product enhancements, initiatives, & strategies are implemented consistent w/ agreed upon timelines & milestone dates. Oversees weekly progress in key project initiatives.
Updates, monitors, & enhances as necessary a product dashboard to monitor & track product performance.
Provides guidance & support to fellow product managers & may supervise & lead the activities of product managers as directed.
Builds cross-functional internal support for initiatives & secures & manages executive level sponsorship of product initiatives.
Leads communication of product strategies & product initiatives to marketing, sales, account management, & operational areas w/in Mid-Atlantic States region. Partners w/ other Training & Communications management to ensure the training & communications are executed appropriately & timely for the target audiences.
Manages relationships w/ external vendors/partners as appropriate.
Ensures contractual compliance w/ benefit filings & other regulatory issues.
Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
8 years of relevant experience in health care &/or marketing w/ an emphasis in product management & strategy development or 5 years of relevant experience w/ a master's degree required.
5 years of experience in leading complex, interdisciplinary projects to a timely completion is required.
Bachelor' degree in Business, or Health care required.
Knowledge of project management, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, & word processing is required.
Knowledge of various analytical methods & statistical techniques, including membership & utilization forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, & decision analysis under uncertainty is required. .
Knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel), presentation graphics (PowerPoint), & word processing (Word) tools required.
Knowledge of current health care marketplace dynamics & KP's position in the market required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Management skills & experience in supervising a professional staff preferred.
Masters degree preferred.
Knowledge of insurance regulatory & contractual requirements preferred.
Knowledge of various analytical methods & statistical techniques preferred.
Knowledge of KP operations & marketing processes & strategies preferred.
