Job Description | JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning, execution, delivery and post delivery support of engineered-to-order (ETO) Contract Business. The primary objective is to keep contract deliverables on-time to the client and on-budget to company expectations. This is a key customer facing role that requires effective communication and negotiation skills. This position will need to communicate, collaborate and coordinate with every level of the organization to guide, assist and deliver turn-key ETO Contract Business in alignment with corporate policies, procedures and work instructions. The ability and willingness to assume contract ownership is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Communicate effectively with clients, business partners and sales personnel through the entire contract life cycle (handover to commissioning)
• Lead in a team-oriented, cross functional environment to drive the actions necessary to achieve the primary objective
• Effectively administrate the contract. This is particularly critical to the obligations and restrictions in regards to all contract defined deadlines for all parties (i.e. document deliverables, equipment deliverables, inspection/testing deliverables, change notification, default notification, etc.)
• Primary point of contact for all client communication needs. This includes contract deliverable timeline management and current contract execution status in relation to the contract obligations
• Understand the needs and expectations of the client with regards to the contract as negotiated by the company personnel upstream. Manage all commercial (timing and cost) impacts resulting from client initiated changes
• Understand company engineering, procurement, production, testing and commissioning processes and how these processes can be utilized to achieve client expectations
• Define, develop, manage and maintain the contract execution requirements through engineering, review, configuration, procurement, production, testing, delivery and commissioning in accordance with contract objectives and company policies, procedures and work instructions
• Accomplish contract defined objectives while achieving triple constraint goals (cost, time and quality)
• Drive, follow-up and report the status of each phase of the contract execution schedule (commercial requirement, engineering documents, services, material supply, manufacturing, inspection, testing, logistics and commissioning). Work with purchasing, production and/or service to ensure schedule and budget attainment and/or make changes as required to keep the project production schedule on target
• Prepare instructions, packing lists, checklists and progress payment notices as required
• Maintain state of the art level competencies by attending training courses, seminars, workshops, etc. as required
• Support Continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies and eliminate errors in the project management process while optimizing strategic initiatives in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profit
• Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety, ISO 9001, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Strong time-management, organizational and multi-tasking skills demonstrating on-time, on budget deliverables
• Background with rotating equipment including drivers, controls and control interface or an understanding of pump products, principles, construction, hydraulics, and application a plus
• Intimate familiarity, expert level, or similar to commercial terms, custom design specifications, mechanical engineering design, problem and solution thought process methodology or experience
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple ""3rd and 4th quadrant"" (High Complexity) projects at one time
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities for project execution teams and colleagues
• Familiarity of computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Project, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat; Familiarity with drawing software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, etc.)
• Familiarity with manufacturing process (Welding, Structural & Pipe Fabrication, etc.) a plus
• Ability to travel throughout US and International up to 25%
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 4-year technical or engineering degree
• 5 years experience in a design, applications, contract management role or sales experience, handling complex projects including bid specifications and multiple customers (i.e. owner, contractor, engineer) and direct customer contact communication. |
