• Works with suppliers to spec and design equipment, develop project deliverables, manage project from concept to full production
• Expert at integration of all types of hardware components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors and vision systems, mechanical systems and electrical systems
• Works with a global supply chain to enable lowest CAPEX cost
• Familiar with error recovery techniques required by automation systems used in manufacturing environments
• Thrives as a team player with Mechanical, Process, Electrical and other Controls engineers to continuously improve methods of integrating systems
• Develops and executes test plans to verify machine functionality and software program reliability required to commission equipment for production, both at supplier and customer sites
• Provides timely accurate documentation and training for each project
• Leads SW specification, design and development teams using excellent project management skills
Required Experience:
• Minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience working with automation equipment
• Advanced PLC programming (Allen-Bradley); troubleshooting & debugging
• Software programming experience with automation systems, computer configuration and networks
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Executions Systems – MES and advanced capability in equipment integration
• Expert level troubleshooting skills of all facets of automated systems; mechanical and electrical and controls systems
• Hands-on experience with, and advanced knowledge of: Robotics, conveyors, pick and place, web handling, welding, liquid dispense, control systems and machine operation
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• 10-15% travel (international)
• Demonstrates exceptional skills in leadership and communication
• Ability and willingness to work hands-on; keep to schedules and meet deadlines
• Ability to influence others with ideas using supportive data
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Proficient in MS Word, and Excel
Required Education:
• BS/MS Degree in Engineering, with background in systems engineering |
