We currently have a career opportunity for a Sr. Underwriter outsourced to our client in the Atlanta, GA area. This position will support our Aon Global Risk Consulting, Risk Management Outsourcing group.
Overview
Responsible for underwriting and quoting of mid to large sized accounts in an assigned territory. Assist marketing and sales using insurance knowledge and experience as a closing and retention sales resource. Lead small underwriting team.
Responsibilities
Prepare new and renewal quotes for mid to large size accounts in assigned territory
Assess risks in accordance with company guidelines
Assist sales staff and customers by providing technical insurance coverage expertise
Lead and audit assigned underwriting team
Review and approve insurance extension sales packages
Develop and assist with marketing strategies and initiatives as required
Contribute to team effort to accomplish profitable growth
Monitor loss performance for book of business and participate on large loss calls as necessary
Participate on sales calls or site visits as necessary
Presentations as required
Develop and support process and improvements for additional revenue opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: College Degree or must have 5 years in an insurance underwriting environment
Licensing: Must have P&C License or obtain one within 90 days of hire
Experience: Minimum six years commercial insurance underwriting experience
Team lead capacity minimum of 1 year
Commercial trucking underwriting experience preferred
