Staff Scientist Product Development, Single Cell Genomics

Job Description

Fluidigm Corporation is the Single Cell Genomics company, and has pioneered products capable of understanding biology at the level of the individual cell. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support product development activities using Fluidigm’s microfluidic Single Cell platforms, together with an interdisciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
•Lead development of applications and protocols for Single Cell Genomics.
•Define, develop, test and validate products for commercial release. Generate data to support marketing and sales.
•Work with bioinformatics personnel to interpret data and develop methods for data analysis.
•Manage project schedules and resources. Lead small teams to achieve project objectives.
•Work with Operations and Production teams to transfer products from development to production.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
•Ph.D. in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry or biomedical engineering, with 8+ years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years of industry experience required.
• Hands-on experience in genomic assay technologies (e.g. qPCR) and broad experience in standard molecular biology techniques essential.
•Experience with product development essential, including leading projects from concept to commercial release.
•Successful project leadership experience essential.
•Experience with Next Generation Sequencing essential.
•Experience with project management tools and techniques required.
•Working knowledge of statistical data analysis a plus.
•Experience in cell biology a plus.
•Experience in bioinformatics an added plus.
