Job Description | Summary
Work on multi-discipline project teams providing structural engineering, project management, and related technical expertise. Project assignments may include project management; client coordination; design and analysis; laying out designs with CADD software; preparing construction plans and specifications, spreadsheets, reports, and construction cost estimates; construction observation; and facility inspections. The work will be primarily for industrial and power facilities including power plants, mining facilities, and other heavy industrial facilities. The work may at times involve short-term, out-of-town assignments.
NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of industrial sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, dusty and noisy conditions, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided for work in these areas.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering with minimum of 5 years of related experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certified, or ability to obtain PE within one year
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) software.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative
Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results
A flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and client needs
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Work experience with structural engineering analysis software such as RISA, STAAD and MathCAD
Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
8 to 12 years of related experience
Familiarity with geotechnical engineering
Demonstrated experience with hydraulic structures |
