Darigold is seeking a motivated Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax team. This position reports directly to the Tax Director. Consistent with the business strategies/objectives of Darigold, the Tax manager leads and directs tax staff, compliance and research. The tax department encompasses federal and state and local income tax compliance, tax planning/decision support, development/maintenance of tax accounting policies and procedures and supervision of corporate tax accountants. The Tax Manager leads tax professionals in the role of informing, integrating and analyzing financial information. He or she coaches, develops and trains tax personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Prepare quarterly and/or annual corporate income tax provisions - federal, state and international, if applicable.

Direct and lead the compliance of income, general business and other tax returns and other related returns.

Manage tax projects to be on time and accurate

Develop strong relationships outside the company. Relationships may include advisors, professional colleagues and representatives from taxing authorities.

Interface regularly with outside advisors regarding compliance and research matters

Direct or conduct tax research; independently draws conclusions and documents positions.

Direct analyses to support valuation reports of plant facilities under property tax review or protest.

Develop a working knowledge of all taxes affecting the company

Support tax planning functions and other transactions by investigating and evaluating the impact of rulings and tax law changes and by documenting requirements and results.

Manage tax related audits and assists Tax Director in negotiating settlements with tax authorities.

Recommend, develop and maintain policies and procedures covering tax compliance and research.

Assist Tax Director in coordinating management concurrence for additions or changes in policies and procedures and communicates revisions to affected user groups.

Evaluate staff performance and ensure that the staff has a clear understanding of their job requirements.

Works effectively with other managers and functional groups to implement tax processes and strategies.

Knowledge in the use of financial software applications, spreadsheets, and/or word processing.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, tax preparation software and tax research libraries.

Experience using Oracle or Voyager would be a plus.

Ability to quickly learn and get up to speed on various systems is a plus.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

BS Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

CPA required.

MS-Tax preferred.

6-8 years experience within industry and public accounting as practitioner, at a senior or manager level.

3+ years supervisory experience.
