Technology Architect - Technical Infrastructure Architecture

Job Description
Job Summary: Responsible for creating and maintaining the technology architecture strategy, target architecture and road maps to implement an enterprise technology architecture in coordination with the applications, information and security architectures.

Architects end-to-end networks and communication platforms including telephony, voice and unified messaging, instant messaging, audio/video/web conferencing and e-mail as well as infrastructure technology (servers, mainframe, storage, desktop, remote access) that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements and other technology parameters.

Manages the network topology.

Focuses on the standards and technologies for enabling systems performance qualities, such as availability, scalability, recoverability, reliability, extensibility.

Supports the Sr Technology Architect (Compute domain) to evaluate and select the enterprise’s server hardware, operating system, job control.
Supports the Applications architect in selecting the application framework. Works with the other architects including Data/Database, Computer (Servers, desktops, remote services) and Security.

Monitors performance benchmarks.

Establishes a process to monitor existing systems for performance problems and drafts system migration plan if necessary.

Evaluates and selects the enterprise’s networking hardware/software.

Functions as an internal consultant and resource to others in the department as it relates to current and future telecommunications infrastructures.
Applies business and technical analytical skills to analyze, identify, design, implement and develop comprehensive support processes to resolve complex business & operational issues involving telephony.
Applies knowledge of call center operational dynamics as it relates to design, and implementation of ACD (Automatic Call Distribution), CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), Network Routing and Enterprise Reporting.
Participates, as a key member of the EA team, in the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring of core LAN/WAN services required for VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) deployments.
Interprets network alert and performance management tool output to properly engineer the capacity and resiliency of the voice network.

Role Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree preferred
5+ years experience with enterprise architecture and enterprise-level systems
Programming Languages: SQL and Java
Knowledge of installation, upgrade and maintenance of computer hardware, operating systems, and application software
Experience with service-oriented architecture development and implementation
Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
Working knowledge of infrastructure management tools - methods and processes
Ability to define and articulate complex process flows
Capacity to interface with customers and technical staff
Strong IT operations background with experience in telecommunications
Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Possession of excellent communications skills -both written and oral - as well as leadership, analysis and data gathering skills
