Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of high power laser diode performance verification. This person will work closely with engineering, product development and production groups to characterize the performance of high power laser diode chips, bars, arrays and higher level assemblies.
Duties:
?Engineer test methodology, procedures and equipment to characterize high power laser diodes and other related assemblies. Includes designing, developing and maintaining test/burn-in procedures and stations used for production of high power laser diodes.
?Manage and conduct both Product Acceptance Tests (ATP) and Design Verification and Qualification Tests (DVQT) on new and existing products in line with requirements. Includes creating test plans, assembling test equipment, hands-on testing, analyzing results and generating reports.
?Review new product specifications and provide feedback on test methodology and feasibility.
?Develop systems to report test results to engineering and production teams in a clear and precise manner.
?Support Lasertel’s continuous improvement efforts by providing CI ideas and technical expertise.
?Investigate device failures and perform root cause analysis.
?Manage ISO 9000 and AS9100 equipment calibration compliance.
Job Requirements
B.S. (M.S. preferred) in electrical engineering, physics or a related field and five years direct experience in a similar role; or ten years of direct experience. Must be goal oriented and use experience and judgment, as well as a certain degree of creativity and latitude to accomplish goals. Must be able to perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. Must be skilled in Excel and SQL/MS Access. Programming experience in Labview or a similar programming language is preferred. Must be fluent in English (i.e., able to comprehend and communicate verbal and written communications and instructions). Must be able to interpret and communicate specifications and have experience using a number of measurement tools and devices (e.g., optical power meters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, optical spectrometers…). Combination of office and 10,000 class clean room environments. Clean room requires bunny suit with face and head mask, gloves and safety glasses. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and move about the facility. |
