Purpose
This position will have technical leadership responsibility for the development and support of vacuum deposited processes within the Specialty Materials business unit.

Principle Accountabilities/Duties:
•Take ownership of assigned processes (area), and lead by establishing the direction for innovation, improvements, sustaining and overall operation.
•Hands-on work with thin film deposition tools, both R/R and batch.
•Maintain close communication across factory including operations, quality, purchasing and sales.
•Actively use SPC to monitor and improve process capability.
•Monitor process yield, develop and maintain action plans to improve the same.
•Work with equipment engineering to improve up time and tool utilization. Monitor and troubleshoot process and tool excursions.
•Perform ongoing process validations and identify areas for the application of Variation Reduction (VRI) Activities
•Maintain, initiate, document and communicate process/ product information via, specifications, SoPs, check lists, FMEA, Control Plan, OCAP etc., assist in training of operators.
•Use Lean tools in team environment to improve changeovers, cycle time, process flows and material management
•Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs.
•Lead process development activities for new materials and applications, using DoE as appropriate
•High degree of discipline, and organization skills with the ability to layer tasks and drive multiple projects simultaneously.
•Excellent project planning, scheduling, documentation, co-ordination ,execution and communication.
•Provide Sales Applications Supports requested, assisting with project planning for the purpose of customer quotes, presentation of white papers etc.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED Basic Qualifications (must have skills):
•Degree in Physics or Materials Science (advanced degree preferred)
•Thorough understanding of thin films basics, applications, and deposition and characterization techniques
•Specific experience with sputtering and evaporation technologies
•Minimum five years experience in a manufacturing environment. (web based- preferred)
•Knowledge, skills and/or abilities in statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; project management; quality systems; materials manufacturing processes; leadership/facilitation.
•Good understanding of device physics and device architecture

•Customer support with the ability and willingness to travel internationally.
•Understanding and or proficiency in the utilizations of a variety of techniques including as FT-IR, GC-MS, SEM/EDX, DSC, TGA, QCM, Raman, DSC, TGA, DMA, and surface profilometry.
