Description
This position serves in an internal resource capacity supporting key capital and non-capital related technical projects. Independent judgment and personal initiative are essential. The incumbent will have opportunity to provide analysis and remain involved in key activities in support of new and improvements to existing product/tooling designs for the assigned business(es). Essential alignment includes technical leadership, operations leadership, plant management and engineering, other process engineers, vendors and contractors.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage blow mold design standards and maintenance programs for the injection blow, extrusion blow and stretch blow molding processes.

Manage technology advancements in mold/tooling innovations that could impact costs, build time, life, cycle or part quality.

Manages new and existing blow mold/tooling vendor base including the CAR system, metric management and qualification.

Review/approve designs for product and mold construction.

Develops, maintains and performs blow molding training programs for NPI and other groups.

Troubleshoot existing designs and tooling to upgrade for higher process reliability in commercialized designs.

Manage assigned projects from conception to completion to include tasking of resources, developing/meeting timelines and establishing budgets insuring cost accountability.

Manage and execute process improvements and other special projects as required.

Effectively lead mold/tooling support for sampling and qualification of unit and production molding in operations.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in engineering with emphasis in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering highly preferred. Associates degree in technical/engineering with requisite applicable experience will be considered.

10 - 15 years of demonstrated tooling experience in plastics processing (injection blow, stretch blow, extrusion blow molding).

8 – 10 years of demonstrated project management abilities.

Strong experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required to perform regular analysis of data captured on concepts, designs and functional testing. Demonstrated ability to utilize Office tools for regular communication of data, project status and project justification.

Must be able to work independently; yet strong collaboration skills are required.

This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations.

This position requires the ability to prioritize and to be a proactive thinker.

Travel up to 35%.

Experience and comfort working in team-based, matrix environment.

High effectiveness in development and delivery of written communications to senior level internal and external client groups.
