Trade Compliance Manager

Job Description
Summary: This position has responsibility to execute the company’s policy to comply with all foreign and domestic laws regarding import / export activities.


Establish systems that ensure compliance with all foreign and domestic laws and regulations regarding all import / export activities.

Understand, organize, communicate and help enforce company’s formal policies on trade compliance.

Establish efficient process to make, keep and render for examination and inspection records concerning import / export transactions in a central location.

As required, interface directly with Customs Broker and US Customs on all issues relating to compliance, importation, duties and taxes.

Understand and advise regarding company’s procedures for shipment valuation.

Oversee HTS classification of all shipments.

Work in coordination all groups to facilitate and track the flow of all international shipments.

Maintain an awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on the business.

Prepare data for Trade Compliance Steering Committee, including, but not limited to summary of non-compliance events, review of training history and plans, summary of international shipment activity

Serve as secretary for company Trade Compliance Steering Committee.

Demonstrate excellent oral and written and computer skills.

Ability to interact and collaborate professionally with other departments and lead cross-functional teams to achieve desired goals.

Strong leadership skills. Able to set department priorities and successfully handle multiple conflicting priorities.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Other duties commensurate with this or lower level position, as assigned by superior manager or supervisor.


Requirements:

5+ years experience in a similar position.

Strong knowledge of HTSUS and US Customs Regulations (19 CFR)

Strong knowledge of import regulations

Experience working with C-TPAT supply chain security program

BS, BA degree preferred in logistics, Supply Chain or Business

Demonstrated leadership experience and Management abilities.

Strong communication, organizational and computer skills.
