Responsibilities
Burgess & Niple is seeking a candidate with at least 5 years of transportation planning experience, AICP certification (P.E. a plus), with a strong interest in multi-modal transportation systems planning. A Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. A progressive transportation consultant is needed to help grow our Transportation Planning practice in the U.S. The candidate must have the ability to lead and coordinate the efforts of transportation demand and traffic operational modelers, land use planners, traffic analysts, GIS specialists, environmental specialists, and highway engineers to develop high-quality transportation plans for a variety of clients. Experience in developing multi-modal solutions (i.e. complete streets, transit) and in transportation demand management policy and programs is desired. The candidate must have excellent written communication skills with the ability to independently lead the preparation of proposals and transportation planning documents. Must also be an established expert in the planning process with the ability to lead planning projects, including developing and facilitating highly-engaging stakeholders and public involvement programs. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills are required, with a desire to work on projects in geographies outside of Ohio.
