Job Description

•Acquire knowledge of company processing procedures and workflows and underwriting guidelines, philosophies, and general directives
•Comprehend and interpret information from a variety of manuals and apply the information appropriately
•Rate manually and/or online for multiple lines of business effectively, efficiently, and accurately
•Work as a liaison between the Underwriter, Customer Service Representative, and field personnel to ensure information is accurate
•Produce the customer''s legal insurance contract
•Provide technical support on system automation projects
•Locate published rates and processing requests for service using ISOTEL software, process requests for motor vehicle reports using ChoicePoint software, along with utilizing other Internet websites for work purposes
•Assist in department record keeping, setting up accounts, assigning policy numbers, and sorting mail
•Train other underwriting staff as requested
Required Skills •Possess analytical skills and ability to make decisions independently between options/solutions
•Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently
•Ability to work under tight time constraints and deadlines with minimal errors
•Strong interpersonal skills with ability to accept constructive criticism from peers
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
•Mathematical and calculator skills desirable
•Positive, cooperative attitude
•Must be computer literate
•Property and casualty insurance background is desirable
