Vice President R&D Molecular Diagnostics, North America
Job Description
Main tasks of the position:
? Provides leadership for several R&D centers of excellence involved in the development and commercialization of new molecular diagnostic technologies for the US market
? Steers development of new molecular diagnostics reagents, assays and panels of assays and potentially integrations/migrations onto instrument platforms, for subsequent approvals by regulatory authorities, respectively
? Is accountable for implementation in line with the company´s strategic product pipeline
? Secures necessary technical and management core competencies required to succeed in reaching product development goals
? Ensures a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the technological and competitive landscape in Molecular Diagnostics
? Forms and entertains strategic relationships with opinion leaders, key customers and business partners
? Advances the R&D organization through performance reviews, trainings, and career development
Position requirements:
? At least 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in the Diagnostics Industry managing interdisciplinary teams, specifically highly qualified R&D professionals.
? A master degree, or (preferably) a Ph.D degree in Molecular Biology Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry
? Strong track record in developing and successfully commercializing medical products, preferably molecular diagnostics assays including FDA approval
? Familiar with developing products under design control, with GMP/QSR, ISO and related regulations
? Outstanding communication skills to organize the efforts of multi-functional
departments throughout all project development phases
? Able to demonstrate strategic thinking through execution, organization & people development, managing change, and collaboration
