Vice President of Insurance Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary

Senior professional with management and insurance regulatory compliance experience to lead of team of compliance professionals who advise the business and help develop and implement compliance processes and controls to address regulatory risks. Working with the Chief Compliance Officer, this individual focuses on the refinement and execution of specific strategies and tactics to help ensure that business practices are consistent with statutes and regulations specific to insurance companies, including, but not limited to market regulation, rate and form filing, cancellation/nonrenewal, company selection, licensing/appointment, claims, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree Or Equivalent

9 Or More Years Of Related Experience

1. Senior legal or compliance professional with experience or expertisein at least several of the substantive areas listed above and with familiarity with compliance programs and management.

2. Seeking at least 5 years of relevant experience.

3. Qualifications as a manager, trainer, or leader are a plus, as would be a JD, M.B.A or any additional compliance, ethics, or governance training.

4. Qualified non-lawyers will be considered, though the nature of the position would give an edge to those with meaningful legal training and experience.

5. Strong team leadership, project management and relationship management skills.

6. Experience or expertise in the substantive areas mentioned above.

7. An ability to think and act strategically, execute on strategies, and contribute to overall compliance activities and improvement initiatives.

8. Ability to identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in external environment.

9. Team player with an ability/willingness to appropriately challenge the status quo to be a compliance change agent.

10. Possess ability to work in a high change environment and possess strong change management skills.

11. Strong written and oral presentation skills.

12. Strong network of regulatoy contacts
