Toyota’s New York Parts Distribution Center, located in West Caldwell, NJ, is looking for Warehouse Associates. Warehouse Associates are expected to meet or exceed established productivity and quality measures in a high performing team based environment. All Safety practices, procedures, and guidelines must be strictly adhered to at all times. Associates must comply with accident/incident reporting procedures and requirements
Warehouse Associates are required to rotate job tasks and work overtime in order to meet business needs. This job requires dedication to continuous improvement, participation on warehouse committees and Kaizen projects. Associates must maintain an acceptable work attendance record.
All positions are for 2nd shift assignments. 2nd shift hours are from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am with frequent overtime.
Warehouse Associates are responsible for:
Picking, sorting, over packing, staging, auditing and dock delivery plan compliance for all dealer, vendor, and referral shipments of all outbound parts. These processes require accuracy, compliance to the daily workload plans, and damage and error free parts delivery to outbound carriers.
Unloading, staging, sorting and binning of all inbound bin and bulk materials from Parts Centers, inter-PDC transfers and dealer returns. These processes require accuracy, compliance to the daily workload plans, and damage and error free parts handling to ensure inventory integrity.
Operating powered equipment (as required) including order pickers, motorized stock chasers, stacker lifts (aka; reach forklifts), and counterbalanced forklifts (aka; sit down forklifts), however, equipment used will vary by facility. These processes require accuracy, compliance to the daily workload plans, properly locating parts by frequency and home position, and ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
All of these functions must be completed within a Toyota Production System environment.
Qualifications
18 years of age
2 years previous work experience - preferred
Ability to handle and manipulate automotive parts of varying shape, size, and dimension weighing from a few ounces to greater than 100 pounds using powered equipment where required.
Ability to carry, stand, walk, lift, stoop, bend, push, pull, work in heights up to 25 ft., and climb stairs within a 7 hour productive work day plus any overtime period.
Manual material handling tasks performed will require the physical ability to lift and carry parts to a maximum weight of 50 lbs from the floor to shoulder unassisted and push and/or pull up to 75 pounds of force unassisted.
Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced, team driven environment.
Ability to hear and distinguish sounds and signs that alert, instruct, or notify the worker of danger, such as warning signs, horns, alarms, speech, and vehicular traffic.
Visual capacity to clearly recognize, read and understand Standard Operating Procedures, signs, part number labels, instructions, and to operate powered equipment.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to correctly inventory, pick, store, ship, and receive parts by applying simple arithmetic processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to work in both a hot and cold environment.
Ability to comply with all company work rules, policies and practices expected of Toyota associates. |
