Job Description
Responsibilities include:

Creation of detailed designs of water/wastewater treatment and collection/distribution systems, including preparing plans and specifications, site layouts, equipment sizing and selection, evaluate treatment alternatives and prepare municipal w/ww treatment facilities cost opinions, life cycle analyses, and process calculations for physical, chemical, and biological treatment.

Perform hydraulic analysis calculations and develop hydraulic profiles for water and wastewater treatment plants and specific unit processes.

Perform construction engineering support services and shop drawing review.

Promote GS&P expertise on advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies by publishing technical papers and serving in professional and community organizations.

Provide support for design projects involved in water utilities, wastewater utilities, drainage systems and earthworks for municipal, county and private entities.

Check, interpret and revise engineering drawings. Plan and conduct code research. Research design options and document findings. Coordinate with other disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with emphasis in water quality, treatment, conveyance, and hydraulics; prefer a Masters degree

E.I.T. is required.

Minimum of 0-2 years experience, prefer two(2) years experience or internships with design of water services and large municipal or industrial projects.

Experience in Civil 3D software related to infrastructure plan development and GIS experience is a plus.

Education or work experience must include experience in studies or design of sanitary sewer rehabilitation, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and treatment plant components; secondary and tertiary water and wastewater treatment processes, EPA standards for water and wastewater; design of open channel and full pipe hydraulics; liquid and solids handling and processing for water and wastewater treatment plants; wastewater process and civil designs; wastewater plant evaluation; engineering economics; water quality analysis; and preparation of preliminary design reports and cost opinions.

Demonstrated working skills with hydraulic modeling for sewer and water conveyance systems.

Self motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task.

Strong interpersonal and communications skill are required.

Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADD techniques and principles preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
