Job Description
R&D - Researcher, Process Development - Duracell-RND00001292. Description. Are you interested in helping push the Duracell business forward by fabricating prototype alkaline cells to meet Product Development designs and requirements? If so, we have a position open for a Researcher at our Duracell Technical Center in Bethel, CT. This is a non-management position.. . The candidate assuming this position will:. • Carry out assignments directed at the development of new or improved alkaline cell technology to improve performance, manufacturing efficiency or cost. Specific duties include setup and operation of a tablet press. Other duties include preparing cathode and anode materials using standard mixing equipment, as well as setting-up/operating other lab and pilot scale manufacturing equipment.. • Record, tabulate and compile data from a variety of lab/ test procedures; enter data into data system as required.. • Perform standard lab characterizations on anode and cathode materials.. • Independently assemble and operate standard and non-standard equipment. . • Conduct material testing independently. . • Create and report accurate and reproducible data and communicate unexpected results.. • Maintain the laboratory; perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment. . Qualifications. . Qualifications for this position include:. • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology, Chemistry or related science preferred. Minimum of Associate degree required.. • Basic technical, mathematical and science understanding required. . • Ability to operate lab-scale and pilot-scale battery manufacturing equipment required. . • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, controls, and machine mechanics preferred. . • Able to use standard office software. . • Ability to work individually or in a team environment required. . • Good interpersonal and communication skills required. . • Good problem solving and organizational skills required. . • Self-starter and self directed. . .
